Waiting, from 5:30 pm onwards, with almost forlorn hope that the thick clouds that covered the sky would dissipate, at around 10 minutes before 7:00 pm a small separation in the clouds began, suddenly at the location of the Sun in the sky the clouds parted enough to allow time to focus, set the mirror on the camera to lock-up and take 3 photographs before the clouds closed, covering the Sun and threatening to rain for the rest of the evening. Due to the dense cloud cover, this is probably the only photograph of the transit of Venus taken in Florida if not the East coast.
