This book is a thorough guide to capturing images of the night sky on video. The authors, all experienced backyard skygazers and astronomical imagers, examine video technology past and present and demonstrate its many applications to astronomy. They explain how to use ordinary camcorders, webcams, and digital video cameras alone or coupled to telescopes to record images of the moon and planets, deep-sky objects, and fleeting celestial events such as meteor showers, occultations, and eclipses.
