1.25" Laser Collimator for Newtonian Telescopes

Collimation is the process of the mechanical centering of your optics to give your telescope the best possible optical performance. If you own a Newtonian or Dobsonian reflector (especially an assemble-on-site telescope) it needs to be checked every time you reassemble it. For tack-sharp images through some telescopes, you may even need to check alignment during your nighttime viewing session as well. With the 1.25" Laser Collimator, you'll be able to achieve precise collimation faster than ever before!

Ideal for use with any Newtonian reflector telescope, including Dobsonian reflectors. The Orion 1.25" Laser Collimator is compatible with any 1.25-inch telescope focuser. A step-down 2”-to-1.25” adapter (sold separately) is required for use with 2-inch reflector telescope focusers. A side cutout and angled laser return face lets you easily collimate optics from the rear of the reflector telescope. The collimator features shouldered design, providing a secure stop when inserting the tool. Turning the laser on and off can be done with the easy to access top button, actuating with a solid click. The bright-red laser can be seen in most lighting conditions, allowing for collimation during the day as well as at night. At around 5" long this collimator can fit in most dark site toolkits to ensure you're always prepared for an optical tune-up!
