Product really woks! Bought it over a year ago for my 120mm Short tube and 120mm long tube refractors. Allows you to see more subtle details while lunar observing. Stars are clearer and works great for planetary viewing. I use mine for skywatches at various state parks, and fellow astronomy club members have purchased several for themselves. Nice job Orion!

Using the Orion V-Block filter on my Meade 102mm, f9 refractor, I have been able to easily see Sirius B despite the brightness of Sirius. The Meade achromat is notorious for its achromatic color, but the V-Block filter has remade this telescope into a fine new tool for me. I was amazed at how it took out practically ALL of the residual color around Sirius, and I was astounded when I easily saw the white dwarf Sirius B close to the main star. Sirius B was very easily seen, despite the glare of Sirius. I think this is about the most critical test I could put the V-Block to, and it really did the job. Thanks Orion, for giving my achromatic refractor a new lease on life. The V-Block is now a permanent fixture on this telescope, and the slight warming color it adds is not really a distracton at all. Lunar viewing has also taken on a new look, with NO color fringing around the moon, and vastly improved sharpness and constrast at high power. It also performs well with a solar filter. I am very satisfied with my V-Block.
Favorite viewing location:??I have now moved to the Missouri Ozarks, and viewing is much better than in the city light polution of SW Florida.
Favorite object to observe:??Sol, Luna, binary stars and the planets.
Pros: a must have for an achromat.
Cons: just a slight warming of the overall view.
Yes, I recommend this product!

I recently picked up a used Orion ST90 (F5.6) and while I am pleased with it's excellent performance with acceptable color aberration for visual use, when imaging with this OTA the brighter field stars show fairly aggressive blue halos. I decided to tryout Orion's Minus V filter with it and I'm very pleased with the results. Visually the chroma aberration is cut drastically, and the imaging performance reflects this. The brighter field stars show only the faintest of blue halos. Imaging the moon yields noticably sharper focus and higher contrast.

I will not look at the Moon or Planets without it. The Moon looks HD and Jupiter is more distinct and detailed.
