This clever Orion Precision Centering Adapter precisely centers any 1.25" telescope accessory in a 2" focuser tube. Whereas standard 1.25" adapters use a thumbscrew, which pushes an inserted barrel laterally, i.e., off center,the Precision Centering Adapter employs a helical compression mechanism that precisely centers the telescope accessory as it is tightened in place. This adapter is especially useful with reflector telescopes for critical centering of a collimating device when aligning the telescope optics. It's also ideal for centering eyepieces and astrophotography cameras on the center axis of a telescope's light path. The knurled twist-lock ring is easy to adjust, even while wearing gloves in cold conditions. Made of machined, anodized aluminum. The adapter  barrel is threaded for 2" filters for easy enhancements.

This is a Must Have and a Total Pleasure to make switching eyepieces better than eating your favorite cake. So much better than tweaking set screws.. Quick, precise and worth every penny. It will make your scope "Deluxe"...and if you use a laser collumnator like I do...than its necessity for a sure alignment.

This precision centering adapter allowed me to get an exact collimation in my refractor telescope. The generic adapter was off center and incapable of precision centering due to the use of just one screw to hold the diagonal or eyepiece in place. This adapter has both, a precision fit into the two inch focuser and a precision fit for the 1.25" accessories. It is a great value.

This is infinitely better than the two set screws on the standard adapter on my XT10i. First, the eye piece or collimator is CENTERED! Imagine that. Second, switching eye pieces is so much easier.
The only functional problem I ran into is the ring at the top of the focuser loosens sometimes when I loosen the eye piece. I had to really tighten that.

This is my second one of these. Went to two scope system. Works great and you never drop a screw when changing eyepieces.
