I'm disappointed that nowhere on this website is there any indication that you may not be able to acheive focus on astro objects when using a DSLR with the Orion Dobs. I got this as a gift along with a T-ring, only to find out that the focuser does not draw down far enough to focus stars or planets on the DSLR sensor. The only thing stated is in the FAQ where it says dobs may not be suited to astrophotography since the mounts do not track...nothing more is said. But this item is specifically for using a DSLR with the 2" Crayford style focuser, which is the focuser used on the larger Orion dobs...seems there should be some warning on the product page stating that it may not be possible to achieve focus with such an arrangement. So now I've paid shipping from and back to Orion for more than this item itself cost!
