I love this book. The cross-reference system can be a bit overwhelming (& redundant) at first - but if you have any basic knowledge of the stars it's pretty easy to find what you want by flipping a few pages. Although they aren't real big, the detail inthe pictures is awesome and most were shot at x20 or x40 with plenty of background stars to use as locators. Obviously these long-exposure photos are much more detailed than an eyepiece view with even a good telescope, but it's an unbelievable reference when used to compare your personal sketches and/or astrophotos to the actual objects. There's also quite a bunch of other (sometimes extraneous) info, but I bought the book for the catalog of pictures - and it delivered.
