I am a lifelong amateur photographer who inherited a love of the night sky from my dad, who used to wake us kids up to watch the 1960s rocket launches. I'm a city kid who is always longing for darker skies. My favorite viewing locations are an open field on the way to Mt. Hood and the ocean beach at Manzanita, Oregon. Most gasp-worthy objects to view, in my book, are the Andromeda Galaxy and the heart-breakingly beautiful symmetry of the moons of Jupiter. Favorite Orion equipment is my Highlight Plossl 26mm eyepiece, which brings distant worlds right up to my eyeball, in stunning clarity.
