Orion SkyQuest XX16g GoTo Truss Tube Dobsonian Telescope
Imaging Source DBK21AU618 Processing: Firecapture, PIPP, Registax Exposure: 1000x16.67s, 7.6ms exposure Other Equipment Used: 2X Powermate Notes: AVI captured in Firecapture, pre-processed in PIPP, stacked and processed in Registax. Conditions very poor - windy, passing clouds, seeing 1/5, 2/5 at best. XX16g GoTo works very well, put Mars in my finder w/o any star alignment. Kept Mars reasonably well-centered on the small CCD chip even with the 2X Powermate.
Astro-images taken through a telescope on a tracking mount provide breathtaking color and detail that you just can't see with your eyes alone. The astro-images on our web site demonstrate the imaging capabilities of the products used and are not intended to represent what you will see when you look through a telescope.
For serious amateur astronomers seeking big-aperture exhilaration and state-of-the-art GoTo electronics - in a large telescope cleverly designed to be transportable in almost any size vehicle - the Orion XX16g Dobsonian is an ideal choice!
