I have purchased nearly all of my astronomical items from Orion and every purchase has been a very good experience. The technical staff have always helped me to make the right purchase and have even told me when an item I was considering would not work well with my telescope. They don't want to just sell an item, they want you to enjoy your astronomy experience. The one time I had to return an item, the staff were very helpful and there was no trouble with returning the item. I will go to Orion for all my astronomy purchases.

While not inexpensive the adage "you get what you pay for" applies here. Fits just about perfect and is a good investment if you plan to store your telescope for long periods especially in dusty places such as basements.

I've used this scope cover for daytime cover at star parties, and longer term scope storage. I have an xt8 (8" Dob) and It fits great, with enough room to leave the finders on the scope. The drawstring helps to seal it around the bottom, and the silver color is great for thermal control in the daytime.

I cringed every time I saw dust collecting on my XT8 during those long winter months of sitting idle. I tried a garbage bag, but it didn't cover the entire scope in addition to looking tacky. This cover is very high quality and has a nice string with clamp at the bottom to cinch it up snugly. Don't rely upon the scope cap alone to keep dust off the mirror. I also plan to use this to cover the tube while tranporting it in my back seat instead of the linty blanket I was using.
