Mfg Model #  09466

Orion's Mini Giants really hit the sweet spot for astronomy binoculars. They grab more light than a 50mm glass yet they don't have the weight or bulk of larger, "giant" binoculars. This high-power model will please anyone desiring extra magnification for closer, more detailed images than standard binoculars permit. Suddenly, more star clusters resolve into stellar pinpoints, lunar craters burst with geologic fine-detail, and the Andromeda Galaxy reveals more of its core and dust lane structure!

The lenses and high-grade BAK-4 prisms are fully multi-coated to permit the highest light transmission possible. The aluminum barrels are internally glare-threaded to ensure rich contrast and eliminate ghosting. Images are sharp, bright, and wonderfully vivid.

For the truly power-hungry, this binocular's combination of sky-eating 63mm objective lenses and 15x magnification translate to high-definition viewing that is "up close and personal." Whether you're panning for astronomical gold or spying on twilight activities at the bird sanctuary, the resolving power of this model will show you things you've never before glimpsed. It's got eye lenses nearly 1" wide, long 19mm eye relief, ample 4.2mm exit pupil, and a 3.7° field.

Contributing to this binocular's comfort factor is its long eye relief. No pressing the eyepiece housings into your eye sockets to get the full field of view! Even eyeglass wearers will see edge to edge.

Its relatively compact size, allow this Orion Mini Giant 15x63 binocular to be hand-held comfortably for short viewing stints. That applies to daytime use as well. For extended gazes, especially with the two high-power models, you'll want to tripod-mount the binocular for steady images.

Smooth rubber armoring provides a secure grip. A large, knurled center focus wheel, pop-down rubber eyeguards, and threaded socket for optional tripod adapter round out the feature set. This Orion Mini Giant comes with a hard case, deluxe wide neck strap, and lens caps.

No other company offers binoculars equivalent in size, quality, and performance to Orion's family of Mini Giants. Find out for yourself why they're such an outstanding value! Made in Japan.

I have been very pleased with these binoculars. The optics are very good. The light weight makes them a pleasure to use.

Just got my new 15X63 binocs. They certainly inspire confidence as they are clearly manufactured with care. A little on the heavy side to me, as I have only used terrestrial binoculars before. I wouldn't want anything heavier without a tripod. Even though these are relatively light for astronomy binocs, the images I see are a little shaky in my hands, and I'm wondering if 15x is right for me. Certainly the 9x63s will have more stable images with the lower magnification. I may exchange these for those. Not sure yet. I can't believe I was considering higher power or heavier binocs for my hand-held viewing needs. The eye relief is sufficient for viewing while wearing my glasses.
Yes, I recommend this product!

I just bought this item for astronomy mainly. I have already seen the craters on the moon, Andromeda galaxy and the international space station. I have located saturn (No, cannot see the rings !!). This is light for its size. Once you get used to it you can hold it longer. I just take a break and get back to viewing. I don't plan on getting a tripod. This is probably the largest size you can get to without certainly needing a tripod. Anything heavier would be difficult to use without it. The central focuser is a bit tight maybe to prevent accidentally changing it. It took me some getting used to.
Yes, I recommend this product!

I am very pleased with my 15X63 binocs. They are clear, sharp, and very easy to use, and are usable even without a tripod. I give them a 5 rating, and would recommend them to any one. They are much more satisfactory than a competitor's 15X70 which are just too long and awkward to use as hand held. So...thanks again, and I may order some accessories in the future. Peter G. Engle, Ph.D.
