The iconic 8" Schmidt-Cassegrain has been known for decades as Celestron's most beloved telescope. Now beginner to intermediate astronomers can have their own "C-8" at an extremely affordable price. This classic telescope design has been upgraded with Celestron's StarBright XLT coatings for maximum light transmission. Combined with Celestron's fully featured VX mount, this setup is ready for both astrophotography and visual observing.

The Celestron Advanced VX mount was specifically designed to provide optimum astrophotography performance for smaller telescopes. With the Advanced VX mount, small telescopes can take advantage of All-Star Polar Alignment and autoguider support. You'll be able to track through long exposures using permanently programmable periodic error correction. Capture images across the meridian without doing a meridian flip, so you can seamlessly image the best part of the sky. The Celestron Advanced VX telescope mount features significantly larger base castings than Celestron's previous design, improving stability under heavier loads. Improved motors offer more torque and can handle slight load imbalances with ease.
